First 5 California Hands on Health Express visited San Jose’s Children’s Discovery Museum. The Hands on Health Express mobile outreach campaign is a ground breaking, grassroots effort aimed at addressing key health issues facing children ages 0 to 5 and their families. The van and exhibit travels across the state, reaching families at fairs, parades and expos with easy and fun tips to stay healthy. Activities include games, music, and entertainment.

Locally, FIRST 5 Santa Clara County sponsored the exhibit. “The Hands on Health Express van provides a wonderful opportunity for children and their parents to learn about childhood obesity, oral health, special needs, immunizations, prenatal care, infant wellness, and tobacco exposure,” said Jolene Smith, FIRST 5 Santa Clara County Executive Director.
