FIRST 5-funded Family Resource Centers are places in our community where children, parents, and caregivers can learn and grow together. Family Resource Center volunteers support families and help ensure that children are happy, healthy, and prepared for school and life. These sites utilize volunteers to share their skills and to provide family-friendly programming to young children, prenatal through age 5, and their families.
No matter your age or background, there are plenty of ways you can get involved at a Family Resource Center in Santa Clara County. As a volunteer you can…
- Help children explore nature and plant a vegetable garden with them
- Bring books to life during storytimes with children and their parents and caregivers
- Get creative and explore shapes, colors, and art during fun art programs
- Make movement fun for young children during yoga time and Zumba activity classes
