FIRST 5 Santa Clara County, together with a design team of Family Child Care Home providers, launched an annual Family Child Care Leadership Conference in 2023.

Each year, our design team comes together to develop an incredible and engaging conference that strengthens our family childcare community. The conference offers an inspirational keynote speaker, workshops on a range of topics from childcare licensing to self-care strategies, and, most importantly, the opportunity to connect with other childcare providers across the county.

Family Child Care Conference 2024
Santa Clara County-based early educators enjoyed a day of professional growth and development opportunities at the Santa Clara County Family Child Care Leadership Conference at Mission College on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. Educators elevated their leadership skills and expanded their knowledge through workshops to help them better serve young children and their families.
Family Child Care Conference 2023
On Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, more than 150 family child care providers spent the day with distinguished speakers and early education leaders to reenergize in their work during the Santa Clara County Family Child Care Leadership Conference at West Valley College. The conference was filled with immersive workshops, peer networking, and meaningful personal development. Providers spent all day connecting and learning together.
