NEW: Potter Grows a Garden Book!

Hi friends! Potter here—and guess what? I grew a garden!

I’m so excited to tell you about my brand-new book, Potter Grows a Garden! In this story, I get my paws a little dirty and learn all about planting seeds, taking care of them, and watching yummy food grow. But I don’t do it alone—I have some very special garden helpers!

As I plant and water my garden, the bees, worms, and ladybugs help every step of the way. The bees buzz around helping plants grow, the worms wiggle through the soil to keep it healthy, and the ladybugs protect my garden so it can thrive. Together, we learn that even the smallest helpers can make a big difference.

🌱 Why I love gardening

When I garden, I get to move my body, spend time outside, and try new foods. I also learn that good things take patience, care, and teamwork—just like growing strong, healthy bodies. Whether you have a big garden, a community garden, or just a little pot by the window, there’s always room for helpers (even tiny ones!).

🤝 My amazing friends

I didn’t grow this book all by myself! I created it with my friends at the California Department of Public Health, who help kids and families stay healthy every day.

I also want to give a big otter hug to my friends at Veggielution for helping review my story. They know so much about gardens and growing food, and they helped make sure my gardening adventure was rooted in real-life learning and community care.

📖 Let’s grow together

I hope Potter Grows a Garden inspires you to notice the helpers in your own garden, try planting something new, and enjoy fresh fruits and veggies together. Remember—healthy habits can start small, just like seeds… and with a little help from friends, they grow big!

You can read the digital copy of my book below, or order your own copy here! Now grab a shovel (or a spoon!), say hello to the bees, worms, and ladybugs, and let’s grow together.

Love,
Potter the Otter 🦦💚🌼
